Halma recognised for championing gender diversity in the workplace
20 January 2022
We are pleased that Halma has been recognised for the second year as a Best Practice Leader in the European Women on Boards Gender Diversity Index.
The awards are run by an international non-profit organisation which assessed 668 companies across Europe. Best Practice Leaders are recognised for driving gender diversity in the workplace and empowering gender equality in decision making. Halma is ranked 2nd highest for absolute share of women in leadership positions.
At Halma we’re encouraged by the progress we have made in recent years to achieve gender balance on our plc Board and our Executive Board, which are now 50% and 67% women respectively. However, getting our leadership balanced at the top is only the first step. We have recently set an ambitious target for all our company boards to be within a 40 - 60% gender balanced range by the end of March 2024. Halma is a FTSE 100 company made up of nearly 50 small to medium-sized engineering and technology businesses each with their own board of directors. The new gender diversity target applies to more than 200 senior people across more than 20 countries.
Commenting on the recognition, Halma’s Group Talent & Communications Director, Jennifer Ward, said:
"We’re pleased to join other leading businesses in championing gender equality in the workplace and celebrating the positive impact gender diversity has on decision-making. We’ve seen the power of gender diversity and diverse thinking on Halma’s Board and I’m confident our businesses can reap the same benefits as we continue to attract and promote more senior women leaders.”
END.
