Every year, during the month of June, we celebrate the LGBTQ+ community across the globe, and recognise their influence in society. At Halma we take pride in the diversity of our people and believe in celebrating it all year round.

We are committed to cultivating a culture of inclusion, acceptance, respect, and empathy where people — regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation or religious persuasion — can be themselves.

Throughout Pride month Halma employees shared their stories of risk taking, courage, allyship, authenticity and finding oneself.

Donna Collins

“One of the things I love most about working for Apollo is that they treat everyone the same. They don't judge you for who you are; they look at your ability to do the job. Working for a company that values me and doesn't judge me is priceless”.

Donna Collins is Production Supervisor at Apollo America based in Michigan, US. She’s been with AAI for 12 years and says it is the best company she’s worked for. Its inclusive culture and its purpose to save people’s lives is something that means a lot to her.

Anna O'Connor

"Every single person in the workplace has a whole variety of things that they bring to the table. And if we ignore that variety, then it's easy to miss the diversity of thought that they also bring."

Anna O’Connor, Continuous Improvement Manager, Sofis. Anna joined the Halma Future Leader programme in 2020 and is now in her third rotation. She is a graduate of UC Berkeley with a Mechanical Engineering degree.

Jo Harlow

"If there's openness in the workplace and the opportunity to be authentically you, then people really know you. And when people and your leaders know you, they’ll invest more in you, and will put you forward for opportunities. If they don't know the person, it's harder to take those risks.”

Jo Harlow, non-executive Director at Halma and Chair of Halma’s Remuneration Committee. Jo started her career leading product marketing teams at P&G, and then moved into global marketing roles for Reebok, Nokia and Microsoft. Jo has lived and worked across the globe and is now enjoying a successful non-executive career. She sits on the plc board for Sainsbury's, InterContinental Hotels Group, and on the supervisory board for Ceconomy, AG, a German consumer electronics retailer.

Henry Langston

"It matters a lot, personally, if you’re part of a company and culture that supports you. If you’re in a minority group, you’re put in uncomfortable positions more often than not. But if you have a sense of comfort, community and encouragement to bring your authentic self to work, then you can truly be a more productive contributor."

Henry Langston, Managing Director, Sofis. Henry holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Aerospace and a Bachelor of Art History from the University of Sydney and an MBA from the University of Cambridge. He joined Halma in 2012 as a graduate trainee in the Future Leaders programme and has since worked in increasingly senior roles including Chief Commercial Officer at Ocean Insight.

Joshua Gledhill

"I want to be that person that someone can identify with when they join the business. I could help them go through that journey quicker and realise they don’t have to be anything but themselves.”

Joshua Gledhill, Product Manager, Palintest. Josh is also part of Palintest’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) media group and along with the team facilitates thought-provoking conversations to engage colleagues on DEI topics.
