Rovers: We buy into adjacent markets

Halma is always alert to new opportunities in adjacent markets that are aligned to its purpose and where there is potential for growth. The women’s health market is a strategic priority for Halma as it complements other healthcare businesses in the portfolio.

Cervical cancer, the fourth most common cancer among women globally, claims a life every two minutes but is highly treatable if diagnosed early. In March 2024, Halma acquired Rovers Medical Devices, based in Oss, The Netherlands. As a leading manufacturer of sample collection devices for cervical cancer prevention, Rovers’ innovative brushes are used in over 90 countries, through both professional and self-sampling, leading to more accurate diagnoses and saving lives.

The addition of Rovers broadens its Healthcare sector’s position in women’s health and strengthens its position in cancer diagnosis products.

We were already a successful business. By joining Halma, Rovers can grow to the next level, adding talent development and commercial opportunities while collaborating with a global group of like-minded businesses, that will help us to enable us to contribute to the prevention of cancer on a global scale.
