Ocean Optics products include standalone instruments (bench-top and portable handhelds), as well as sensing devices incorporated into other systems by original equipment manufacturers.

These devices have been used to make important scientific discoveries around the world, scaling mountains and even launching into space. A small sampling of applications includes determining ozone levels and effect on UV intensity levels on Mt. Everest, studying the plumage of penguins, screening for hazardous liquids at airports, monitoring air quality during the Olympic Games in Beijing, and searching for signs of life on the Moon and Mars.

With its headquarters in Dunedin, Florida, the company has full service locations in Europe and Asia.

Ocean Optics operates within the Halma Environmental & Analysis Sector.

Supporting Scientific Discovery

As a company founded on research innovation, Ocean Optics strongly believes in supporting academic efforts. The academic grant program has provided curriculum guidance and discounted instrumentation, bringing spectrometers to the classroom and photonics to life for students.

Ocean Optics' Application Scientists frequently contribute research and photonics insights with whitepapers and expert articles in leading photonics trade magazines.
