Gas emissions monitoring

Our miniature spectrometers are used in pollution monitoring systems to analyse air quality. More details on the Ocean Optics Inc web site. We also make gas emissions monitoring equipment that helps to minimise pollutant emissions from chemical plants and optimize fuel efficiency in combustion processes. Find out more by visiting the Crowcon Detection Instruments Ltd web site.

Monitoring environmental air quality

Scientists in Florida use our spectrometers to monitor air quality and assess the environmental impact of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill and use of chemical dispersants in the Gulf of Mexico.

Monitoring gas hazards at chemical plants

Halma gas detectors protect workers from hazardous gases and monitor emissions at this Shell petrochemical plant in Stanlow, UK. Three hundred detectors measure flammable gases and toxic gases, like carbon monoxide and hydrogen sulphide, at the Stanlow site.

Keeping gas emissions in check

A Halma gas analyser measures pollutant gas emissions at the AES Barry natural gas-fired power station in South Wales, UK. This instrument analyses and records turbine exhaust gases to ensure that nitrogen oxides and carbon monoxide stay within statutory limits.

Reducing energy wastage

Five thousand British Gas service engineers use this Halma instrument to check the safety of UK domestic boilers. It measures temperature, pressure, gas leaks, carbon monoxide and combustion efficiency. This data helps to ensure that the boiler is safe and that fuel is not wasted. Fuel savings of up to 10 percent can be made when boilers are serviced and adjusted using our flue gas analysers.
